Hello:

I am working on a 55 Nomad and am considering a shock cross bar. Will I need to relocate the gas tank if I run the (weld in) bar directly above the axle? I think I will...

Thanks,

Scott
My rear shocks are altered and do not go to the cargo floor. They actually fitted to a bracket off the frame. If I get a chance I'll snap a pic and post.

I may have to climb under with the tank and pull some measurements. I will let you if we don't get replies before then. What year you working on?
I'm working on a 56, looks like some good info here.

Asbicca, good pic, what location points did you use to mount the shock bar ?

Where you located in So Cal ?

The best shock bar on the market for a wagon comes from Williams Classic Chevy in La Verne, CA. It is a weld in round bar and has bushing to mount the top of the shocks.
There is no clearance issue with the stock gas tank or the rear end if you lower the car.
Bingo!!
