How on earth do you put sidemount motor mounts on a seamed 56 frame????
It sure looks like an impossible job w/the steering box in the way.
Jeez,I thought that the 57s were difficult.:confused0006:

I changed mine out on my 57. I just set the motor down on the front mounts and installed the side mounts. You can get bolt on side mounts that use existing holes in the frame. I think I had to drill 2 holes.

Just don't buy those cheap mounts Fred. I spent several hours cutting, grinding and modifying the new one's to no avail. I ended up junking them, and am going with "Gene Smith's" design. I believe member "Dave" from down your way, has had good luck with another brand.

I've got side mounts to install that I got from a vendor at Goodguys. I'd swear Big Dog 69 is using a picture of my car! same firewall color and everything. I've got a one piece frame and everything is off right now so I can mount the engine and trans. My car has a 605 conversion, with no hoses yet.......but I don't see a problem yet. I'll keep an eye on this thread for things to watch out for.
