I've got a new baby girl in the house and it's also time to replace the smoke detector batteries. (I replace the batteries every year)

I got to looking at the smoke detector in her room and it is nearly 8 years old.
I wanna replace it. Anybody in the business or have recommendations what to get for her room? I started looking at all the options and my head started spinning.

Also, what's a good way to test them?
I have about 8 units total in my house.

Thanks

Geoff

We just replaced the hall one, with a smoke/carbon monoxide model. Fifty bucks wais a low price. You need one in the basement and outside all the sleeping area's. What price is safety ? :confused0006:
