My speedometer isn't working in my newly purchased '55 210 and am looking for some help. I removed the instrument panel and found the speedo cable was broken so I just replaced that and still no go. The needle moves fine if I hand turn it so not sure if it could still be something with the speedo itself. The transmission is a 700R4 with an Auburn 411 posi track reart end.

Any input/help is much appreciated.

Thanks,

Hank

Hank.....Could be the speedo gear in the transmission....Have you tried driving the car with the speedo cable disconnected to see if it is turning?

Thanks Carl, glad to be here! And I agree with your slogan, which is why I went from an Acura TL to a '55 210 as my daily driver....life is too short!!(23 MPG to 8.5 MPG and a heck of a lot more fun!)

Definitely will give what Pops recommends a shot.

Thanks,

Hank
