For all you experts out there, I am having an issue where as long as I keep the key engaged with the starter, the car starts and engine runs fine. As soon as I release the key to "run" position, it cuts off.

Thoughts? Battery is new and good. Starter is new and good. New plugs and wires. I am thinking it may be the ballast switch? I have replaced it, but maybe I did something wrong?

Any ideas? All help is appreciated

Bad ballast.

If the car still has a ceramic resistor on the firewall, change it. :anim_25:

Or if you have an ignition where you don't want the resistor, you have to wire it correctly so that you get power to the ignition in both run and start.

With the above, on a 55-56, you need to jumper IGN1 and IGN2 on the back of the switch.
