I just bought a '55 3100 and the owner said it has a late '60's or early '70's Cadillac tilt and telescopic column. Unfortunately it also is home for the original Cadillac steering wheel. I need to change out the wheel so I'm concerned to order the correct adaptor kit for a new wheel.

Are most GM columns the same in the way the wheel mounts?

Thanks, in advance for any sage advice.

Pull the wheel, count the splines and measure the shaft width. Won't be any question what you need after that.

So easy to tell a late 60s from a 70s column a cave man could do it. GM cars went to Key in Column and anti theft crap in 1969. Unless Caddy is unique most 50s to 80s Gm stuff is same spline.

I appreciate your help fellas.

I'll post a pic in the next few days.

I did take note that the Lacarra site shows a GM adaptor fitting 67-94.
