hi i have swapped a cast iron original '56 powerglide for a ally th350, i sourced the correct length box and all is going well untill i come to the yoke, the splines are good and fit the 350, but how do i fit it onto the original '56 drive line ??
i am pretty sure the yoke is off a camaro poss '72
i split the yoke from the 350 and it seems the joint is heat moulded into place ?
it seems to have a ring of plastic that extrudes out thru a small hole in the yoke,
the original joints are spicer and dont fit onto the new u.j. they are too big
any one know where i have gone wrong ?
regards tim:)

You can remove it one of 2 ways. Eiether break the plastic ring off in a hydraulic press. Or you can heat the ring and the plastic will come out that small hole and then you can remove the U-joint.
