I have a 57 with a 350. It has the original guages. The temperature gauge isn't connected to the temperature sending unit. They are both there, but not connected. I have been looking around and I can find replacement sending units, replacement gauges, mechanical guages, etc.

Does anyone know where I can find the needed linking wires to run between them? I am not even sure how to search for that. Any ideas?

Britton....Here is the best wiring diagram that I've seen for a '57 Chevy:http://wiringdiagramcircuit.com/images/2/2011/08/wiring-diagrams-of-1957-chevrolet-v8.jpg

Their should be a dark green wire that runs to the sender and tan wire going to the ignition switch....Also, see links http://www.trifive.com/garage/57 Chevy Assembly Manual/12-5.gif and http://www.trifive.com/garage/57 Chevy Assembly Manual/12-7.gif
Thanks. I'll see what I can find. My fear is that a previous owner has scrapped those wires. DO they simply direct connect to the nub on the end of the sender?

you need to open up the diagram he posted and follow the circuit. The Green wire from the gauge goes to the temp sender, the tan wire goes from the gauge to the ign. switch. These wires are part of the harness. If the green wire is missing you may have to get creative and make one up now that you know where it goes....
