After being out of street cars for a few years I bought a 55 wagon to redo,
I have a 91 trans am that I'm using the drivetrain for it. My questions are how can I do away with emission air pump and keep the serp belt and not set codes in the ecm?
Thanks Don

Hi Don,

You'll most likely use an aftermarket computer and harness, i.e., www.howell-efi.com, or others. They can program the computer to look for whatever devices / components you choose to use with your application. There are lots of articles regarding this type set-up on this site as well as others.

Best of luck with your project.

Remove pump?

You can remove the smog pump and replace it with an idler pulley that bolts on and keep the orignal serp. belt.

Yes, but the serpentine belt needed is a different length than the original when the pump is changed out to the idler.

I can get the numbers for both the idler pulley and the needed belt if the OP needs.
