Anyone know of a "made for a 56 Chevy" trailer hitch? Many thanks, Harry

I've been thinking about this, too. I've got a special little trailer to tow behind my car.
I think it would be pretty easy to fabricate something that bolts on/off.

Well gunfunit (excuse my language) but there must be someone who makes one. Maybe it will have to be a generic model but it would be cool if it just bolted right up.

I bought a universal hitch from walmart. I cut and rewelded the ends to fit the bumper bracket holes. I then mounted it to the frame inside the bumper brackets.

That sounds like the easiest idea. Buy one that's close and modify it to bits. Thanks all.

trailer hitch

I have one that came with my 56. It looks like a professionally done unit that bolts to the bottom of the frame. You can have it if you come and get it. I live just outside of Bend, Or.

No longer made. Perhaps you can get one if you watch ebay.

4beers4me has the best way to go. My 56 had a hitch form the day and they mounted partly to the bumper . Meaning you had to drill a hole in the center of the rear bumper center. Not cool . Don
