I was driving home last night and when I slowed down the transmission statied slipping. when I got to the house (it was all down hill) it would not pull up the drive. It is a th 350. I checked the fluid it was full. Am i going to have to replace the transmission or is there something i can check.

Pull the stick, if it is blackish and smells burnt, youre looking at overhaul..Does it buckle in reverse when you come out of park? If it isnt burnt and IS full, you may have just lost pump pressure, if its just the pump thats the first part out, last part in, bolts around input shaft. If money is issue, you MIGHT get away with replacing just the pump? Just a though fo course it depends if the fluid isnt burnt, kinda unlikely, but I have had this happen a few times because previous rebuilders re-used pump housings and gears that were VERY worn out!
