Hi guys.

Is there a specific way to mount the trans member?
It was mounted this way.

Would it be OK to mount it pointing to the opposite side?
Pointing to the rear instead of the front on the car?

The mufflers are in the way :(

turning it around would not allow it to line up with the transmission mount. I'm sure you could replace it with another crossmember or if you have the capability to fabricate to fit, would be an option.

The trans in the picture is the old th350, the 200r4 needs the mount located more to the rear of the car.
Is the mounting pad at a specific angle to transmission mount?
Fabricating something out of square tube should be possible, there isn't that much force on the mount.

Thanks :)

keep your pinion angle correct and fab your new mount to fit flat with the rubber support on the trans. Be careful with your distributor against the firewall.

Thanks, this indeed might be the easy route.

The pinion angle, is this the angle which the trans slopes down?
My car has 4 engine mounts, the two in the front (stock) and two where the trans mounts to the engine.

This is how it looks.

Now the bottom of the trans pan slopes a bit towards the front of the car, not much though.

Nick, you say you have a 350 transmission in the car now and are still using the bellhousing mounts from a powerglide trans.??

No, I must have said it wrong. This is how the trans is mounted.

Danchuk sells these as a kit.

The mounting point on the old trans member has been flipped over.
Now it fits nice.

Thanks for the advice.
