Soon I will be installing my engine/ trans. I have the Tremc TKO 600 with shifter installed BUT does anyone advise me to spend the extra money and purchase the offset shifter to bring it closer to the driver? I plan on making the hole on the trans tunnel soon for the shifter. Thanks in advance:wavey:

I worried about it, but now after 4 years, I much prefer my Tremec shifter in the center of the hump. More leg room for a right knee flop over when cruising. Shift handle is right where I want it for me. There is a little tuft or cut in the carpeting next to the shifter where the previous Muncie 4 speed stick came through for comparison.

I used the offset in my 55, my vendor basically said it was a must, but as you can see lots of guys don't use one, it feels right to me.Dan

Thanks for the replies and pics guys. Now just have to make a decision. Seems that either location will suffice but one wull keep some money in the pocket.
