NO NO NO it is an o-ring seal. O-ring goes on the nipple the switch goes on.

the o-ring goes @ the base of the thread.

I just put on a VA trinary switch on last week and wondered the same thing. I did not use teflon or an o-ring, it looks like there's a green seal inside the switch, so I just snugged it tight. I'll be watching this thread to be sure I did the right thing.

There are male and female trinary switches. The male usually goes on the dryer and needs a #6 o-ring.


The female usually goes on a shrader valve and already has a seal inside.
