Sure were an abundant amount of Chevy's chosen for the pace car.
There is a reason for that. I am quite sure that whoever provides the pace car is the winning bidder for that particular year's race and a large sum of money goes to the promoters of the race, one of which is the speedway itself (maybe others get to share too).

So it's all about the money.

Same kind of deal about Motor Trend's "car of the year" and other similar deals.

It's especially amazing how many Corvettes have been chosen as Indy Pace Cars over the years.

Suprisingly however, the first Corvette chosen as Pace Car wasn't until 1978, then not again until 1986, then another lull, no Corvettes until 1995, then 9 more to present which means there were 10 Corvettes chosen in the past 18 years, and the last two were 2012 and 2013.... sweet..!!! :tu:tu:tu
