Any tips or tricks out there for "restoring" air vent cables? Or just wire brush, WD 40 and elbow grease...

That's what did it for mine, wd40 to clean it, then some silicone spray to keep it lubed.

If the cleaning doesn`t work then buy the repro ones. They work good.

I was looking a my Danchuk catalog last night and they have cables for about $30 that work better (if you don't want OEM)

cleaned up one side to a decent workable condition. ok unless you're looking for 100 points. the other is probably junk and needs replaced. they all seem to be in 30+ range from several sources.

You soooo funny...Actually I have climate control. Whatever comes in through the open window controls the climate.

I needed a longer water control valve cable, for my A/C, than I could get from Classic Auto Air, because of where I put the valve. I got a coated choke cable from Jegs....http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/15830/10002/-1 . You can also get uncoated cables. I heated the ends and formed the loop.
