Need more help from the wagon people. I have a 57, 150 handyman wagon. Could anyone with a wagon post some pic's of the inside, back cargo area and the lower tailgate so I can see where the trim pieces that go around the flooring go. I have had this wagon apart for 20+ years and can't remember what gets trim and where it goes. How was the vinyl flooring on the lower tailgate, (glued), and did it have any trim around it. Also does any trim go around the spare tire door panel? These pic's would probably have to be from a stock looking cargo area unless you have all the orginal trim on a custom job.
If anyone could help me out again I would sure appriciate it. I'm sure I will have more questions before I get this all put together so bear with me. Thanks for your wisdom..............Larry :blowtiedb:

Larry, I don't own a 150 Handyman, here are a couple of pics of my 210 Townsman Cargo deck area and tailgate when I did a stock restore, there are shock hole cut-outs in the deck to mount the cover plates on top, I didn't have the heart to cut the material and install the plates until I need rear shocks, :burnout:, hope these pics can help you out and if you need any help, you can always send me a message. Also, to clarify, there is no trim around the spare tire lift panel, except at the back, there is one long middle piece, that lines up with the two short left and right pieces on the rear deck, at least on the 210s. :D

Wagon Question......Again

Jack,
The pictures are great, they are going to help me alot. Couple more questions though. Is whats on the tailgate put right on the metal of the gate or is there plywood under the vinyl? Can't see the front up by the rear seat, is there one long piece of metal edgeing or nothing?
Thanks for taking the time to post the pictures, if ever I can help you, please let me know, I owe you. Thanks again..................Larry :blowtiedb:

Larry,

1. There is a thin piece of Masonite board on the tailgate before the vinyl was laid, then the trim and plate were installed. You can find it at any hardware store, got mine at Home Depot. If you needed to replace the Cargo deck wood, the thickness used was 5/8" plywood, this is the measurement I got from the old stuff I replaced. To install the covering, I used Scotch 3M Vinyl adhesive, it sticks to metal and wood very well and will not harm the material.

2. There is trim pieces all around the top half and lower half of the rear seat, the top front has a wider taller piece with a dip cut out in the center that is for when that seat half is folded down against the center hump making the rear seat available for passengers, you can kind of see this trim piece and the dip in it in the pic below, look directly behind the front seat below the ashtray.

The pic shows the rear seat assembly laying flat, this is how I keep the '57 wagon all the time, unless I have rear passengers, sorry about those speaker boxes being in the way. :) If you need any more pics, let me know, I can email them to you, just message me your email address.

Larry,

To clarify why I used a piece of Masonite board and then laid the vinyl on it for the tailgate.
The original old weathered Linoleum that was there was beyond using, I measured the thickness and it was very close to 1/8-3/16", the Linoleum material used back in the day to cover the cargo deck and tailgate is no longer used in today's market because of hazardous fumes when burned, the 2 ply vinyl is used today with authentic 1/2" apart ribs to emulate the original styling.
