I saw a fellow TriFive member was restoring a gas pump. I thought I would ask if any of our TriFive members remember the Wake Up Gas Stations and have any memories to share.

Wake UP gas stations must have been a regional thing... I don't remember them in my neck of the woods... Later, Dave

I know Wake Up was in Bloomington, Bedford and Indianapolis, Indiana but I'm not sure where else they might have been. They had the red rooster logo. My grandfather and uncle worked for them back in the day! I was hopping some of the TriFive members might remember the Wake Up Service Stations.

We had one in Ft Wayne IN, used to go there when we had money to buy a soda pop or candy, was the closest place to our house. Then they opened a Burger Chef not far away, you could get a burger and pop for a quarter.

gas station

I managed a gulf station when I got out of the Marine Corps in 1963 for $48 a week, manager meant that I did it all 7 days a week from pumping gas to front end alignment. I have attached a picture of the latest gas pump that I restored

I remember there were Wake up stations in Indianapolis Indiana and also Danville Indiana. I have a 8x10 black and white photo of a Wake up station. I remember that their gas and oil were cheaper than Shell and Sunoco.

I believe my grandfather said Bloomington had one Wake Up station and Bedford had one. He seemed to have had very fond momories of working there back in the day.

Gary, No,all the Burger Chefs became Hardees. I saw a book at Meijer's this past Friday about the history of Burger Chef. This book is a series of historical books about various Indiana towns and sights, I have seen this series at Borders book store. Dennis.

I remember them,I am from Indiana.I don't remember much else.RICH:bowtier:

I believe Wake Up stations were in several states in the midwest? I can't understand why there isn't more items form them around? If you do find something from Wake Up, it seems to be priced VERY high.
