Been looking at quiet turbo mufflers....Got it narrowed down to the Walker Quiet Flows or the Dynomax Surper Turbo....I believe the Dynomax are a little cheaper.....According to the Dynomax site, the Walker's are a little quieter....Anyone have first hand experience with either? Anyone seen any flow comparison tests between the two?

I think TonyG on here put the Dynomax Surper Turbos on his 55. He is running a ZZ4 with headers and the Dynomax STs and it sounds nice. When he drives away it sounds kind of like a new Camaro or Mustang. i have driven it a few times and inside it is pretty quiet and no drone. I think that is what I am going to put on mine too.
Tony, it was the Dynomax Surper Turbos...right? If he doesn't see this, send him a PM.

Dynamax Super Turbo

Yes, I am running the Dynamax Super Turbo 17748, 2 1/2" pipe, 20" long, with the PYPES SGC10 X-Pipe system. I had the PYPES Race-Pro mufflers on it for a few days, but it was a little louder than I wanted. I am very pleased with the way it sounds now.

My car at present has no upholstery except the seats, it's like a tin can in there (mark can attest to that!), but there's very little exhaust noise in the car. In fact, at interstate speeds, I can cut the engine and barely tell a difference. Most of my noise is the tires on the pavement.

I haven't heard it from outside the car under acceleration. I need to get Mark over here and let him drive away in it before I could say anything about that. But from inside the car, on hard acceleration, you can hear the power then, but it's not an "overpowering" roar.

With the X-pipe and longer mufflers, I did have to alter the eBrake hardware. I can give details if you want.

I am a Spintech user also. They turn heads.

Scan ebay you can pick them up cheaper there if money is tight.

I have had people ask me if I built the mufflers. The square box shape makes them look twice.

Our Sportsman Series 3000 was originally designed as a racing muffler - it was too quiet - so we turned it into our premiere street muffler

Bruce....Looks like a good option.....Where did you buy them at?

The Spintechs are great- what I plan on using, but I don't think you'd call them quiet. The 3000 model that's too quiet for race... is not street "quiet". They do carry an RV / truck muffler that is their quietest, but I heard a video on youtube and even those have a nice rumble. :anim_25:

I bought mine straight from Spin Tech along with all my 2 1/2 SS tubing.

When I first got6 my 55 up on the road I thought they would be too loud but once I hit O.D. they are just fine

I have the dynomax hemi super turbo mufflers on one of my cars. These are 20 inches long and they are just right for noise level inside and out. The ones i used were 2 1/2 with a x pipe and all the way out the back bumper. Anymore that wants a great sounding muffler and being able to listen to your radio should check these out

Tony,

I am interested in these same mufflers and an X pipe also. Glad to know the 20" mufflers will fit.
Yes, it would be very helpful to get the details on what you did to make the ebrake work with your setup.

Thanks,
Roger

Just found this sound comparison test at the Dynomax site:http://www.dynomax.com/soundsofdynomax.php Doesn't include the Spintech's though.
Pops,
The Super Turbos come in 14" and 20" versions. It looks like they test the shorter ones in the sound demo.

It also looks like they test some pretty long Quiet Flow 3s in the demo. Since those mufflers are made for individual applications, they come in lengths anywhere from 15 to 30 inches.

Good point Roger....Should compare apples to apples to be fair.....A longer muffler would be quieter.
