Anyone from the Atlanta area have any suggestions on what to do, where to eat in Atlanta? (better yet any car shows going on) I am flying down for the Amp 500 this wekend and will have a couple extra days to kill in Atlanta.

I would recommend the Motorsports Museum at Talledega. If you get there early enough on Sunday (the crack of dawn), you can do it then.

Be careful where you go...
It won't take 2 days to get killed, if you venture into the wrong part of town.
There are some really NICE restaurants in the major hotels, downtown.$$$$.
Then, there's the historic VARSITY, near Ga Tech.. Great hotdogs, burgers, onion rings, and some neat personalities in the servers that work there!

For a really special treat, see the Georgia Aquarium.. BEST in the world!

"The Atlanta area" could be any where.

The metro area is huge. Narrow what area your going to be in.

Also What kind of food do you like? Pizza, Country Cooking, Bar-b-que, Steaks? (And if if you drink we have more bars than a prison)

We are going to be at the Hilton at the airport i beleive. We like pretty much any kind of food, steaks, fish, asian fusion etc. of course a beer or two doesn't hurt either.

If you journey east, my suggestion, it gets more country like. I-85 will take you towards SC and the town of Helen is something to see, all German, like an Alpine village, even the street signs are in German. There's the drag strip, watch out for Hoolihan's restaurant at the airport, unless you dont mind eating a $15.95 breakfast...i had one the week before last. Lucky for me, my date picked up the tab. You'll find good swap meets around Atlanta, there is a big one every saturday just east of Atlanta, i believe it's in Braselton, GA.
