I am purchasing a CI powerglide w/following casting number 3742349. Any ideas what this trans is for? Does anyone know if parts will interchange w/55 CI trans. What I understand is 55-62 CI powerglides are the same, true/false?

I know casting Numbers for 55 V8 is 3836142, my valve body is bad. Any one know where to get a good valve body?

Thanks

They are not the same 55-57 PNDLR and 58-62 PRNDL. CI I am sure that he is refering to the fact that these are Cast Iron. They weigh as much as a muncie & th400 combined.

If you are planning on using it on a 55 it will not work. The number 3742349 you posted is for 58 up CI PG trans and are completely different than 55-57.
