I have to say, I felt pretty queasy drilling these holes in my Bel Air - but I was fine when I was done. Totally worth the wracked nerves for the end result.







The new Nomad arrived last Thursday. Gonna drill holes in it, too!

The fender birds look great Dave! I am sure you were more careful than the guys installing these 54 years ago.

Drilling holes in brand new cars was an every day event in dealership service departments back in the 1950’s. Typically the journeyman mechanics didn’t want the job of installing accessories on new cars because the flat-rate schedule wasn’t very generous for these jobs. The job of drilling holes and installing accessories was usually assigned to the shop apprentice. :eek:

I had trouble drilling for my mirrors, nerve racking stuff.

Turned out awesome, like that nomad too:D:tu
