Thanks Jay.Rumors had it that he sold at least one if not two 57`s to the Jersey Shore`s most famous resident back in the 70`s. Do you know anything about that rumor?

I'm not sure if he sold the cars to them but he did paint and flame the 57 ragtops owned by Bruce and his band member Gary Tallent (Walt's B in L).
He also still owns the 54 Vette, now painted to match the Nomad and with a 4 speed behind the 235

I had a 55 back in the early 70's, went to the Reno and the Kansas City Conventions from Fresno. My number was
1332 and I thing Oakley was the president of the National then. Had my Nomad as a daily driver for 27 years and
wish I'd never let it go. Those were the days.....Rich

I am a CNA member, and attended the 1973 NNC convention in Reno.
I think I have some color pictures that I took in Reno that year around somewhere.
Never owned a Nomad, but I've drooled over more than a few....

I was a member and went to Gatlinburg in 1979 and Sacramento in 1982, and the last one in Frisco in 1988.
Bought a few parts home from those conventions, and a lot of memories.

Reminder: This year's CNA convention is in Richfield?, Brookfield just on the outskirts of Milwaukee on 11-14 July, 2022.

Correction: This years Chevrolet Nomad Convention is in BROOKFIELD, WI, just to the west of Milwaukee at the Sheraton Milwaukee-Brookfield.

Yep, went to the Troy Michigan meet with the Tri-Chevy club guys HQ in Joliet, IL. Came across my Nomad News collection awhile ago with my Son as we were looking through old boxes. The classified ads are a killer!

I purchased my 57 Nomad in Elkhart Indiana in 1973 and connected with the old National Nomad club for help with parts and rebuild questions. I'm now retired and living in Virginia and looking to reconnect with 50's era motor heads.
l would like to find a mid-atlantic club that will help me find cruise-in and swap meets in my area. Suggestions?

Have you joined th cna nomad club. They put out a booklet with members in your state.

This is a 3 year old post I realize, but I just stumbled across this site. My family and I were members of the NNC back in the 70's when I was just a kid. We were also members of the Mile High Nomad Club out of Denver, where most of the founding members were from. Brings back so many memories growing up. One favorite memory was doing the "Indianapolis 5" at the Indy convention. They let us do 2 laps around the track in our Nomads!

The hundreds of Nomads traversing the Indy 'brickyard' was/is a favorite memory of all of us who did it..

IF you still have your Nomad, are you a member of the CNA?? Are you still in the Denver area?

No, moved to Pennsylvania in 1982, and gave the Nomad to my brother in 2000. It’s somewhere in north west Pennsylvania but not sure where. I bought a project ‘56 a few weeks ago so that’s where all my time and money with go for the foreseeable future 🙄

I joined in 86 I think went to my first moment convention in trevose Pennsylvania and the second one in Detroit

I joined Mid-Atlantic Nomad club and NNC in 1970. Had a 56 Nomad, then in 71 bought my 55 that I still own. I've been in CNA since the beginning.

Anyone who owns/enjoys the Nomad and it's history should NEVER let their Nomad Club membership lapse! I've been a continuous member of the NNC (and then/now the CNA) since I purchased my '55 Nomad in 1974!

I'm really looking forward to seeing and meeting MANY Nomaders at the Huntsville AL CNA convention this July!! Our entertainment for the Tuesday evening Membership meeting during the convention has been coordinated and set. It will be 'Microwave Dave' (Dave Gallagher) who is great.. I just stumbled across this thread and thought I would jump in. Bought my 56 Nomad in 1970 and was in NNC in the 70''s.probably 73 to 78 or 79 and CNA for awhile. When you try to restore an old car sometimes LIFE gets in the way. I am old and I am slow and now working on my 3rd attempt to get this thing finished. No guarantees but Life is good.
