Hey guys did some work on my engine. new paint, gaskets, intake. finally got it back in the car. had a little trouble getting it started. advanced the timing pretty good and will start and run now, but when I release the key from the cranking position it dies. Thought I had all my bases covered but am stuck now.

thanks guys

Either the resistor is bad or the wiring to the resistor is not connected. Power goes through the resistor from "ign1" terminal on the switch to the coil, in the run position of the key.
