Hi fellas
I didn't want to hijack the last thread but I have a couple of questions about a wonderbar raido. The one I have in my 57, when I installed it, it wouldn't work. It has a sepreate power supply that bolts on the ledge under the clock. Should either of the speakers front or back have the transformer on them? I have been told both ways does anyone know for sure? I also have 4 or 5 more 57 push botton 57 radios will any of the tubes work in the wonderbar if I might need one? The guy years ago when I bought the wonderbar said that it worked perfect, I think we all know how those stories end up. There is a fella here in town that workes on old electronics but I don't if I should trust him with my wonderbar. Does any one now of a good qualified guy that workes on them.

Thanks guys
Mike

Hi Mike,
The 57 wonderbar radio speaker is the non-transformer variety. This would apply for either the front or rear speaker. As for repairing your radio, because someone can replace a few bad tubes and capacitors in an old radio does not qualify him to work on a wonderbar. There's a lot of mechanical parts and electronic circuits that have to be right in order for that radio to work properly. I would first ask your local guy if he's had any experience working on wonderbar radios.
