It was in the highly modified All GM show in Maryland...some great cars there....lots of street cars and stock you don't see...olds,Buicks, Pontiacs, etc. Belle was up against some radical newish corvettes with extreme graphics as well as some street Tri5's....one had a rat fink mural done on the inside hood and an LS1 corvette engine and kept looking over at Belle not in a friendly way. It's was owner's voting so it made it that much sweeter when Belle took first place and to boot a guy came over to her engine and started telling his buddy that this is the car that was in Street Rodder magazine and Car of the Year for 2014 for Cool online rides. The owner of the red 57 rat fink wasn't happy at all then. His wife didn't talk to my wife in the restroom. I just don't know why people can't be good sports about it. I would have shaken his hand had he won first place.

Well done Johhny. Re the other owner, who gives a stuff about whether you win or not, it's about being involved and enjoying it. Ba humbug to him!

:):tu Good going, Johnny! And don't concern yourself with poor sports. Mom's lifelong friend Babe Didrickson's motto was 'Its not whether you win or lose...... Its how you play the game.' Meaning that good sportsmanship and how you treat others both on and off the field of play are what a life well lived is really all about. Mom drummed that into our heads as kids and it has served us well.

Best regards,

Harry

Again nice job. Congrats Johnny . Mike

Don't concern with the others...no matter what you do, they will be there.
For what it's worth, I would have skaken your hand if I came in second to Bell!! :tu:tu

:congrats: ,johnny you are a very busy man with renos ,car shows ,moving etc ,did you sell your house???
No Don...house hasn't sold yet...although some interested people stopping by.
...well thats funny, as I'm writing this, the realtor called to say two separate parties are coming over later today to look at the house! There is still so much painting, wainscoting, floor re-sanding, complete carpet replacement and the kitchel remodeling to do before we move in. As far as the car show yesterday, that was the first one in six weeks as we have been busy in PA almost every weekend or busy at this house, wrapping prints, packing, etc. I have also been building out closets here in two bedrooms that I deleted while the house was being built. So, I needed a day off to rest and a car show does it for me. Whew! So attached are a few pics...note red 57 beside Belle...

Hey Johnny, thats great news on the win buddy. Man don't worry about the other guys, there's always a few that are filled with envy and some openly express it. You just press on man, press on and bring the gold home. Hey,as a matter of fact, give Belle a big hug from this fella in the Alamo City. :sign0020: Take care, kkkkkkkkk for posting.

Hey Big Bob...You'd be my wing man if we were back in a time machine at the Alamo! :shakehands: Yeah, I really get a kick out of people like that...just asking a rhetorical question. I like watching them from a distance (sitting in my chair)standing in front of my engine compartment gawking at it and then looking over at his engine compartment with a growing doubt that maybe he shouldn't be as cocky as he is....he was right! :) I give Belle a big hug and my wife gives her a kiss on the dash whenever she wins. But, tomorrow morning as I pass her, I'll give her a big hug from a big Bob in a big state!..
