If you have an MRI and have been around any type of metal grinding equipment tell your doctor that you have and ask to have eye x-rayed for metal fragments. Any present can be pulled by the magnets used in MRi and damage or sever the optic nerve leaving you blind. I was at a doctor yesterday. after several x-rays told me I have several issues with my lower spine and they are going to get me scheduled for an MRI.( My 3 rd.)

Yes be careful. I have had 3 so I know what you are talking about. Heads up people. Mike

I did not know that! I appreciate this valuable information. Thank You!

Please let me know after your MRI what they found...I can probably help as I deal with spinal issues every day.

I knew about the grinding and potential metal shavings in the eyes causing problems.

When I went in to find the cause of my neck and shoulder pain, I asked if I needed to change clothes into one of those expensive fancy paper gowns with rear air conditioning. The two running the machine that day said no as long as I hadn't been working that day. :sign0020: Ok.

So on the table I go to get scanned for 20 minutes of excruciating pain.

When I finally got up I saw the reason I should have changed clothes. Even though I hadn't been working in the shop that day and these were clean out of the closet, the massive magnet drew the minute grinder fillings out of the clothes I had on and were all over the table. Guess next time they'll have me change.

BTW the source of my pain was 3 herniated discs in my neck. Other than steroid shots or surgery to fuse them together (Neither option I wanted) there was nothing they could or would do. I opted for self home exercises to stretch the neck and relieve the pressure. Not a 100% but it helps.
