Hey folks. I have a '56 model 265 with a cast iron powerglide. I want to go to a late model automatic overdrive transmission, but of course the starter won't bolt up. Where can I find the adapter plates to use a late model trans and starter on the 265? Thanks.

doug, that kit allows you to adapt a turbo hydra-matic trans to a 265. i don't know if this helps. this bolt-on plate allows use of the original bellhousing mount starter when installing a th 200/350/400/700-r4 auto tranny. kit includes the steel plate, hardware and thread locker. :)

on the blocks i checked there isnt enough casting on the outboard side to drill. even with a 153 tooth flexplate.
Maybe , but, some 57 blocks are drilled and tapped at the factory. The blocks I have had all had lots of meat for drilling.
