Talk to me about an 8.8 ford swap?

Any particular year better than another fitment wise, any of them able to maintain the parking brake?

I'd like to go lowbuck and don't see any need for a 9in ford, way to overkill imo.

consider the 8.5" 10 bolt from a 73-80 nova. same width as the stock rear end and has the correct lug bolt pattern. just weld on the spring perches you need.

That is the easiest way to go. I have seen some use S-10 blazer rear ends too. They don't have the strength of the 8.5, but they'd be ok for a cruiser.
