I owned a 73 Duster with a 340 for a short period of time.Super reliable slant six but ugly as all get-out. "Virgil Exner and Dr. Frankenstein walk into a bar, and Virgil has his sketch pad with him..."
Fortunately, the styling improved over the next decade, ultimately evolving into the Duster. I don't care that Liberty Mutual commercials with dorky "Doug" and his emu sidekick cruise around in a Duster - that was a pretty good looking car in that era. Being seen driving a 340 Duster was nothing to be ashamed of.
