Hi Guys!

I've had a BPE stroker in my '55 for two years now and it's always run great. Lately, it's starting to act like it's out of gas; stalling, uneven acceleration when in traffic. It acts up for a little bit then goes back to running great. Any ideas where to start looking? Very much appreciated...

Might help to give some specifics on your setup. Carb pr EFI. Mechanical fuel pump or electric. What type of ignition system.

Check the pressure being put out by your mechanical fuel pump. It should be 5.5 - 6 PSI. If it is a newer pump, it was almost assuredly made in China, and the current crop of available pumps (regardless of brand) are JUNK. If they work at all, it will not be for long. The problem is that they put out less than the required volume and PSI pressure. There have been scores of these pumps failing recently, and there are many threads addressing this issue. Yes, it didn't seem to alleviate the issue...
If the electric pump didn't help and the fact that it starts right back up, to me, reduces the possibility of it being a fuel problem. If the fuel bowl is low enough to cause it to stall, it seems that it would take a bit of cranking to fill it back up to restart.

Is it a large body HEI distributor? I would check the distributor for rust and maybe try another coil, if it's an external coil.
 
Any black smoke? My thought would be the fuel pressure being supplied is too much for the Edelbrock. As previously stated, more than 5.5 or 6.0 psi will unseat the needle and flood out those carbs. You will be needing a fuel regulator if that's the problem.
 
It could be a few things but from the symptoms you are describing it might be vapor lock. Check to see if your fuel line has gotten too close to something hot like exhaust pipe or headers. Heat shield tubing over gas line can help with vapor lock also.
