i do think my 55 2 door sedan is my fav chevy. i think. the second gen Camaro was my first introduction to muscle cars. i worked at a golf course behind my house when i was like 13. the high school guys that worked there had Camaro's and Chevelles. i loved both those cars.

i havent thought of selling either the 55, or the Camaro, so i would say they are my favs, but there are just so many cool cars before 73. Nova's? yes. Chevelles? yes please. i can go on.......
i have thought about adding a 70's Blazer to the fleet, and getting rid of my Tacoma. i would love to attempt a turbo atlas engine. i think that would be so cool as a winter daily driver.

Been browsing around and checking out some classic and newer Chevrolet models on sites like Dyler.com, and it’s amazing how much variety there is from vintage ’55 Bel Airs to modern trucks.

What’s your favorite Chevy model, whether classic or new, and why? Have you ever restored or modified one? Would love to hear your stories and maybe see some pics :)
If I could have any Tri Five. 1957 210 Fuel Injected Chevrolet.

I wish I still had my 67 RS Camaro. :( I prefer the 69, ever so slightly. 😁
Never should have sold our 67 Camaro, SS/RS Black vinyl top, black deluxe interior, ps, pb, air, disc front brakes and oddly column shift. Low mileage Arizona car with no rust. Needed brakes and a dash pad when I got it. Sold it to a scary biker guy, got my price and after he told me he would have paid twice as much. Gave him all the original parts as part of the deal. Second biggest car sale regret I have.

I am torn between the 56 nomad and the 56 1/2 windowed delivery.

I have been fortunate to own a lot of Chevy models. Besides the 55 post 2drs, the 1st gen camaros float my boat. 68-69 together slightly edging out the 67. Never cared for the round parking lights. RS is fine, though. Ive had chevelles from 65-through 72, every model.
Trucks, love the task force models, 60-66 are sporty and 67-72 being my pick. I used to flip sqarebody 4x4s back when you could pick them up cheap. I now build (and shorten), the 67-72 c10s for locals. Every now and then I get to build one to drive. My camaro is done except for paint.

I learned to drive my Dad's '49 Chevy at the age of 13. That was in '56. I have a soft spot for that body style. In High School I drove my parents 1959 Impala 4dr HT, another soft spot. My Uncle bought a '52 Chevy 2dr HT when he got home from a tour in Korea. I now own one. Another uncle bought a '50 Merc...yep, own one of those too. My '62 Vette is probably my favorite, followed closely by my '55 Nomad and my '56 2dr HT.

While I enjoy all models of tri-fives, the two door variety of all of them are my preference. But the top of my list is the 1957 Nomad. I own a basket case example (not as bad as some I’ve seen though) that is waiting its turn among my five other cars and trucks to be done. It will likely be the last one finished since it will take the most time and money. I have many other favorite cars, but will refrain from posting all of them.

When it comes to Tri Fives my favorite is a 1955 150. I love the less chrome and simplicity of the '55 150 models.
When it comes to Chevys in general, or just old cars I love my '39 Chev coupe, and have loved them since hi school in the mid 60's.
As far as newer Chevrolet models there's not much that appeal to me.
Totally get that, the ’55 150 has a clean, no-frills vibe that stands out. And a ’39 coupe? That’s a classic. It's hard to beat the style of the old Chevys.

For tri fives, I like any 2 door sedan (57 and 56 150s are favorites of mine). C2 Corvettes. Love 2nd Gen Camaros with the RS front end. Early Novas (up to 67).
There are plenty of others; almost anything with 1972 or older chrome bumpers and 2 doors could pique my interest. 2 door rule is optional for wagons. And it’s not just Chevys for me (nobody from Chevrolet ever sent me a birthday card). I love A, B (have one) and E body Mopars…Falcons and Fairlanes interest me…
I’m a very sick man
Haha sounds like you’ve got the sickness bad, and I respect it. I’m right there with you on the ‘72 and earlier chrome + 2-door combo. C2 Vettes and RS 2nd gens are high on my list too. And yeah, Mopars and old Fords definitely deserve their love. What B-body do you have?

Tri Fives any shape, any model are my comfort zone. My wants lists has a 62 409 4 speed car on it. I have owned several of the desired cars on the lists above. My 66 SS Nova was and still is the one I should have never let go. It had the L79 "Pocket Rocket" 327 / 350 HP mouse and the Muncie M20 4 speed. I think it was the funnest car I ever owned. My 67 Big Block Vette was a pile of junk. It was a worn out rattle trap when I bought it and it sucked up 3 times its purchace price in repairs/corrections. A factory 427 Tri Power car with 4 speed that was driven hard for its meager 60,000 miles by 4 previous owners was almost unrecoverable. It never failed to fail and was a disappointment every chance it had.

I have no love for Camaros or Chevelles but sure do like to look at them.
Man, you’ve lived the dream and the nightmare! That L79 Nova sounds like it was an absolute blast, I’d be kicking myself forever for letting something like that go too. And yeah, it’s funny how the cars you think are going to be the crown jewel sometimes turn out to be money pits with trust issues. A factory 427 Tri-Power Vette should be a highlight reel, not a horror story. I get you on Camaros and Chevelles, great to look at, but not everything has to be a ‘want.’ That '62 409 on your list?

That '62 409 on your list?
If I have to explain it, you won't get it. I had a high school shop teacher that drove a dual quad 409 Impala SS with a 4 speed. He was a real honest to goodness hot rodder and became a life time friend of mine. His pearl White Impala was just as serious in 1974 as it was in 62 when he took delivery. By the late 90's he was still out banging gears and smoking those Firestones and the when he passed away I was the guy that drove his ashes to the cemetery in his car. I have made numerous offers to his wife and kids to purchase the car but it is not in the cards as they like having it in the garage to remind them of a great guy.
