I purchased a new 500 series steering box and also ordered the steering kit, which included the pivot arm, idler arm and center link. I have had orders in for this part for 4 months from CPP & Eklers. My order was canceld by CPP and Eklers informed me that these parts have been dicontinued. I'm sure this is caused by the devastation in China. Do the original manual steering parts work with the 500 series steering box? Do the parts need to be modified? And if these parts do not work, doe's anybody have a suggestion on where to get these parts. Thanks, PATS55

Yep, just get some stock parts. They don't generally wear out, but if there's something wrong with them a physical inspection will tell. And they are not hard to find.

The only devastation in China is that the value of the American dollar is shrinking, and they hold all those Treasury notes payable in dollars.

The stock 55-57 manual steering linkage works fine with the 500 series box.
You should not need to replace the center link , pitman arm or idler arm unless they have some form of damage or they are missing. All the parts to rebuild them are readily availible.
You can buy new bushings for the idler arm and the center link and there are kits to rebuild the pitman arm end of the center link that has the internal parts and the felt seal and tin cover. The pitman arm itself would only need to be replaced if the ball that goes into the end of center link has significant flats worn into the sides of it or the splines that mesh with the steering box shaft are messed up.
