thought you all would get a kick out of this photo..This guy did this twice in one morning..showing off his near perfect 34 ...just after this photo I encouraged both of them to MOVE.......kids, dogs, idiots, nose pickers..etc etc...then a guy with a 10k paint job leans on your car...guess the polished patina is not for everybody..........hard to figure the lack of thinking here..the guy with the sun glasses knew!..comments welcomed....
I get this exact thing quite often. Okay I can't afford a $25,000 paint job on my '57s. I know that. But I also know I work hard on my cars to keep them looking as nice as I can.

I had one guy scratching his b--t on my front fender a couple months ago. He walked awayafter I removed his bu-- from my fender.

That's when you need an old fashioned extra long antique hatpin, slide across your car's front seat & jab it into his butt. He'll never sit on another car again that's on display.

Or in a loud voice offer to buff his car with your butt like he did yours, then walk over & start buffing his 1934 car with your butt in large circular motions.

Our car is never left alone at car shows just because of fools like him. My wife is like a pro-wrestler (not in size) she can & will body-slam you to the ground if you do anything she doesn't like to our car.

i would probably say "is this your car?" then follow up with "then could you get off MY car".

the rule i try to go by is to not wish, or do something to someone that I wouldn't want done to myself.

this is why i am not in a huge hurry to get my Nomad painted.
plus getting it painted is not in the budget right now, it has other problems that need to be dealt with first.

A friend had just had his car detailed for Motorama. We were walking towards it and someone was tracking the flames with his finger. The guy got all mad when confronted because he bought a ticket for the event. It ruined the show for me because my buddy had about 4 hours a night sleep for two months to finish the 52 Chevy.

Some people have no respect.

That's just not right. My 57's paint looks like crap and I would not appreciate it. Heck I jumped all over my oldest boy cause I saw him getting ready to lean on my car in Somerset. I make sure the kids stay a good 2 feet away from cars at shows. Respect has been lost over the years.

This is a pet hate of mine-the idiot who thinks he can sit on your car and not offend anyone. When our club goes to a car show we watch out for each other's car for these imbeciles, and move them along. As has been said, they look at you as if you're crazy, and I've even had one say to me "it's only a car, so what's the problem"!!!!!!!!!!!

Yep, had that happen to me a couple of weeks ago on a Fri. nite car show by the Hemisfair tower here in San Antonio, some dorks just don't get it. Same thing happened also to another buddy with his 36' chevy.

At Somerset, I did hear them announce something to the effect of "there are a lot of nice cars here and to look and enjoy but be careful and not touch". I thought that was great. I am always ultra careful looking at someone else's car.

The nerve of some people. We were sitting at a local car show one day not too long after I bought my 75 Vette. About 2 hours into the show I looked down the street and watched a man walk along every car on our side of the street and run his fingers across the hood of every car. I stood up and glared at him as he got close to mine. The guy looked back at me and waved, then went across the street and did the same thing to every car over there. This guy was in his 50s so you would think he would know better. There is a moderator on one of the vette forums where I used to hang out. This guy has a picture of himself leaning on his own vette. If the guy has no respect for his own things he D**m sure will not have any respect for yours. I informed him he should be driving a VW instead of a Vette.

Some people only care about their own cars and no one else s, I was taught by my dad when I was a young lad that if I wanted to lean on a car, I had to purchase one for myself to lean on. So don't lean on anyone else s. Nice 56 you have there:blowtiedb:

I lost count of the morons that think it's A-okay to write on my '57s, lean their b--ts on them, touch, damage, steal parts from, you name it.

If I catch them, they d-mn sure know about it.

Yep that pretty much sums up most of the cruise nights.

Yeah that pretty much sums up most of my own experiences at cruise nights, I had a guy sit completely on the fender and then the hood of my car. He saw me and realized his error, he never came around that block again. If he did he observed from across the street. :congrats:

My friend Pat has a Shelby, highly polished aluminum, 427 Cobra roadster. Pat has about 400hrs+ alone in polishing out the body to a mirror finish...stunning to say the least.
We were at a vintage race/car show a few years ago at Infineon raceway. I had been racing my FIA and Pat had driven up to show his car and watch a couple of us race. We went over to see his car because two of us had never seen the finished product. As we were walking up, there were two "hot rod dollies" posing for pictures being taken by this big, and I mean big, tattooed biker type. One gal is leaning way over the front fender, hand on the hood, posing "provactively" for the camera. The other gal is sitting in the car, putting her weight on the windshield frame doing the same.
Pat is not a big guy...in stature, yet is built like a tank and has a short fuse,I thought he was going to come unfreekingglued...
He walked up to the picture taker, asked him if he had insurance because he was going to need it...then smashed the guys camera to the ground, walked over to the two gals told them politely to get their you know whats off his car...or else they'd join the camera...after telling the gal draped over the windshield that he hoped she had $1,500 in her pocket because that is what it was going to cost her if the windshield broke. Surprisingly, the biker and the gals just left, never said a word, didn't offer an apology either, the guy just picked up his broken camera...I gotta tell you, I was in serious doubt if even Pat, Alan and I could have taken this guy, let alone worrying about maybe the "dollies" jumping in also, before help arrived.

For those that don't know an aluminum Cobra, besides being expensive even for a roller, are rather fragile, doesn't take a lot to dent them. And the windshield frame and glass have to shipped and often ordered from England.

Best Windshield sticker I have seen:

Do Not Lean on car unless you are naked, young, in shape and female. Thank You
P.S.,
"Hot Rod Dollie" those gals you see at car shows dressed in vintage '50's type gal greaser out fits, w/ too much makeup, vintage style haircuts, too tall spike heels, tattoos and generally not all that great looking. Usually found hanging with the rat rod guys or bikers.
