Hi all
Stupid question perhaps on HARDWARE to build the car
As you may be aware i am doing a ground up resto on my chev, as i have hidious time on my hands due to my surgery i have a question.
Does any one out there have a comprehensive list of all the required bolts, nuts, washers, screws etc to do an Entire build.
I need quantity, lengths, thread type, size, plated, non plated where they fit etc as i intend to replace all hardware with NEW items to bolt her altogether.
I do not need engine, trans or diff related as these major assemblies will not at this time be dissassembled.
Any sugestions on where i can get this information ??
If this info is not avail i will do it as i go
Good idea or not ?? Just thinking out load with to much time on my hands
Thanks in advance

That's a good question. Somebody may have a comprehensive list but I have never seen one.
I do know that Ecklers/Danchuck etc: have packages for sale. An example would be PN 34-23 (Front end sheet metal fastener kit) as well as other kits.
The bolts for the bumpers are sold as a kit.
As I took my car apart, I saved the bolts/screws etc: in little packages and later I measured the length.size and thread pitch. Grade 5 hardware is needed.
Good luck. Maybe someone on here has such a list.

X2 on the East Coast Chevy suggestion.

Call them and have them send you their catalog. They don't have an online store.

Go through that catalog one page at a time and make a list of what you need. That's what worked for me.

Thanks Guys your help has been great
Thanks also to the sponsers that are sending their cataloges downunder for my paroozle while im down myself for repairs :sign0020:
I will have more time to look at things and get my ideas together for my build (and to convince the G.L.W. to allow me to spend the $$$ to get all my goodies together) till the doctor says i can use my arm and shoulder again:(
I beleive 6 months rehab from surgery gotta hate that
Anyhoo thanks again

Six months of rehab - *shudders* - but necessary if it's a shoulder issue. Hang tight, some of us take six months between spending time in the garage for more mundane reasons... At least you have time to plan, dream and think things through, and not have to stop because of a missing part that will arrive in 2-3 weeks because you didn't realize you needed it... (not that that's ever happened to me :sign0020: )
