I can answer any questions they might have if they happen to read this. I've learned quite a bit after doing two of these.

I did the first one as an accident doing the wrong year then I am just now finishing up a 2nd one for my '57. I hope to NEVER do one of these again. Big pain.

The '57 has a hole in the top. There is a typical style threaded rod that screws into the top of the carb and sticks through the top of the air cleaner and is held down with a wingnut.

The 55-56 uses a clamp around the top of the carb to hold onto the carb. It uses a phillips head to clamp down on a portion of the carb and that is what holds it tight into place.

The holes in the air cleaner to fit onto the carb and designed differently so it takes more than just drilling a hole in the top of one also.
