Best transmission option for replacing powerglide on a 350 crate engine?

Your transmission choice should be based on many things. Is the engine stock or modified? If modified to what extent? What is the rear gear ratio? What driving habits do you intend on using the majority of the time? What is your budget for a swap? There are more but you get the idea, Not always a simple one or two word answer.
