That is the question. Can it be done? If so, I'd like to hear how you did it. I thought about setting up two stacks of wood blocks, to get the bumper close to where it needs to be, but, they might get in the way when trying to get the bolts through the frame rails and wrenching. Anyone have any better solutions? I want to install it today.

I'm 63 and I installed both the front and rear bumpers on my 56 by myself. The most important thing is preparation - moving blankets on the floor to protect the bumper, and painter's tape covering all of the potential paint contact points on the body. I must admit that the 57 bumper appears to be larger and may pose more of a challenge.
Allow yourself a big chunk of time without distractions, if possible.
If the bumper is the original, or was previously fitted to the car, that will make it easier; both of mine were repros and required drilling, filing and shimming to fit correctly. so it took me the better part of a weekend to do both bumpers.
