Charlotte Autofair

Hello all,

Has anyone been to the Charlotte Autofair in April? Have been thinking about going to it for my first time.
Used to go to Carlisle, just would like to know how they compare. Carlisle is about 6 hrs. away and Charlotte is about 12 hrs. away.

Any comments would be great.

I know, it's like a Casino, bring as much as you want, you'll still come home with only change in your pocket. Don't forget someplaces take plastic!:happy0030:

Man, sounds like some wemen going shopping.:confused0006:

I have had inside spaces at Charlotte for about 15 years. The spring show is bigger than the fall. Charlotte has gotten so big, I quit going to Carlisle. It is much easier to park and to get around at Charlotte. I would recommend getting a vendor space if you are going to spend more than one day. Even if it is on the back edge it will be much easier to get around and you will have a place to park. The spaces get you parking and 2 vendor passes. If you and a friend go, it is at least $12.00 at the gate plus $5.00 parking. More than 1 day and it is a wash, plus you will be much closer to the car if you buy anything. Food and drinks are expensive so pack a lunch. You can't see it all in 2 days. Also, it is not like Carlisle, you cannot get in before Thursday. If you have any questions let me know.
Also, if you order vendor spaces, don't tell them you just want to park. They won't sell them to you. You must bring a few parts to sell.

Always like it. Great swap meet. Might see ya there

Wow, I'm already getting excited to go. I want to get there on the Thursday and probably leave on Sunday morn.

Thanks for the tip on getting a vendor's pass, I'll look into that.

Is there a vendors' list somewhere? I would like to see who would be there in the parts midway area.

Thanks.

I went once in a friend's place when he couldn't go. He had a spot on the track apron, and where I went in I had to circle the track. Lifted Z-71, and coming around turn 3 I swear I thought the truck was going to turn over and roll down the bank. I was so nervous I was even leaning to the passenger's side just to try and counterbalance the weight.

Parts? Man, about anything you can imagine, like someone said, you won't see them all, and inside parking is WAY better if you plan on buying anything. You can put them away and start over with your shopping. The entire infield was filled with vendors and just regular people selling stuff, and just when I thought I was done, I found out that there was about as much outside in one of the parking lots as there was inside. HUGE meet.

Never been to this one because of the distance. Sounds like it might be
worth the trip. Take a week off, spend the kids inheritance and go:sign0020:

As I stated before I really like Charlotte there is so many things to do .If anyone is a Dale Earnhart fan ,Kannapolis has a Plaza with his statue and several benchs, plants etc arranged in threes , really nice. There is alot of other Earnhart sites also. The ladies can shop forever at Concord Mills. My wife and I are going down for Thursday and Friday. Hope every one has a great time. The place is loaded with alot of good buys.

I can't believe it's almost here!

Got my list ready, had to shorten it a little, wife got into an accident, someone wrote off her van. Luckily she's o.k. :happy0030:

Just taking me away from getting the '56 ready, oh well, life happens.

Still, looking foreward to getting away for a road trip for car stuff!
