My son and I are pretty close to being able to drop the body of his 4 door 57 sedan back onto the frame. 55Wagoncrazy brought us some really terrific replacement doors for the car which we want to install and get adjusted before we final weld the rockers in place. The doors that are on the car are pretty used up and they are from a couple of different cars including a 55.
The front doors are pretty "creaky" if I can describe it that way. Stiff, then makes a loud creaky noise as you start to close them. I ordered new pins and bushings just to tighten the hinge up a bit but I think the noise is from the hinge mechanism itself.
I was wondering if anyone has gone through the process of fixing this problem.
