Guys, I have been asked by CNC Customs if I would like to place my car in their booth at Good Guys. CNC Customs is a small Hot Rod Shop located in Hurst that has done some work for me in the past and I'm quite satisfied with the fit, finish and function of the Bridge Bracket System for Alt / Air Cond. My concern is security at Good Guys since the car will be left there for a number of days. Anyone been there done that....? Your thoughts are appreciated. Thanks,

Joe

I looked at this event yesterday. Good Guys website states that they do NOT provide security for cars left on the grounds. Their will be plenty of people traveling to this event and have no other choice but to leave their cars. The vendor at the booth you will be setup may have someone sticking around after hours (if allowed) to keep a watchful eye on their products and your car. It will probably be okay sitting out there for a few days due to the size of the event and it is a class act function. It is on the infield of the track and not just anyone can get into that place after hours, plus I am sure yours is not the only car left out.

I would still be on the fence leaving mine out there, without me personally keeping an eye on it. Not sure how your insurance would look at that too if in the event something happened and you live within only 15 mins. from the track. This 1st event being held in March is questionable too, it will be spring time in Texas = possible storms. Just something to think about...

The last time I went as a spectator the cars were parked so close together I felt uncomfortable just walking around them. I drive the dog snot out of my '55 that is very nice and it is no trailer queen but man, people today just don't care or watch their kids close enough at these car shows. Been to many shows and have seen others push there way in with baby strollers and little ones just touching away- YIKES !

BTW... The guys at CNC are top notch !

Best of Luck

Is there a swap meet there too, or just the car show.
It is both car show and swap meet. They will also have MANY, MANY vendors on site for billet and chrome goodies along with t-shirts and cleaning products. Last time I went they had an auto-cross event setup inside of turn 4 too. Real cool event to check out if you have never been. When the close the gates at 5pm each day it is neat just to sit on the curb and watch the parade of cars exiting the infield.

The swap meet is not that big. There's a lot more new parts dealers. I sometimes get a swap meet space just to park inside the infield and have a place to rest. I try to sell just enough junk to pay for the space.

That's a great idea :)

hi i do the good guys show here in ny for a swap meet space it is held in the at the fair ground and i never had a problem with leaving every thing out it is never touched and the cars are left in there spots for three days. i dont know about security from the good guys but the fair grounds has there own and you can't come and go unless you have id. the fair ground is fenced in . you will have to see the how the place is set up where you plan on being and see if they have there own security.

Guys, I found out that the booth will be inside the secured area and covered so there shouldn't be a huge problem. And yes, I've seen a lot of parents that don't watch the kids and carts. There are others too that haven't a clue. Thanks for your input.
