what`s the trick in installing the bushing in the center-link end of the idler arm? just can`t get it in! thanx!

You gave up too easy. Drill out the rubber, then remove the center steel, then collapse the outer steel shell and you are all set to install a new one. Btw, when I was in my teens in the late seventies, I set the rubber on fire, waited for it to drip out, then did the above. What did I know then, lol.
