I am installing new AC in my car. I don't have the AC lines made up yet. Is it okay to install the compressor and belt and run the car without any lines attached? No power is attached to compressor.
 
As long as you have no electric connection to the clutch wire the clutch is just freewheeling. I see no problem.
If the system is not charged, the binary switch should not allow the compressor clutch to engage, but in case it's not wired correctly, it's best to have the compressor wire disconnected, as mentioned.

You should have caps on the compressor ports and any open lines.
 
like what was said before as long as your fittings are closed off so dirt can't get in and no electricity is supplied the clutch is free wheeling and the compressor is static. I would drive the car no problem.
