I am working on my horns, found the problem but have a question.
I have a Grant wheel on ididit column and the horn button wont work. I have power where it needs to be, My question is do I need to ground the button, it has a place for the hot wire and another hook up as well. My horn will work if I ground the wire that is in the column but it wont work thru the button it self.

Quote from Grant website: "If you have a painted black, silver or gold wheel. You must use the silver foil disc that is packed in the back of the horn button along with an instruction sheet. Follow these instructions (form 97524-00-01) for its use and your problem will be solved."

Install instructions. ..... http://www.grantproducts.com/files/instructions/97505-00-01.pdf

First make sure that the black wire coming out of the ididit column is connected to the ground side of your horn relay, that black wire should never have power put to it, it is a ground only.

Second, all ididit columns come with a yellow in color horn wire, this wire connects to the cancel/horn cam in the top of the column and has a female ended spade to hook into after market horn buttons.

Third, if your column is painted or powder coated, make sure that you are making a good metal to metal connection either at the floor mount or the dash mount and that should complete your circuit, if your horn honks when you ground your horn wire to the column it should have enough ground, if it doesn't do it with the horn button itself you may have an issue with the button.

Hope this helps!

this is what the horn wire looks like.
