Hi to all
Posting a new thread due to change of plan, i have decided to stick with the straight six is there any options to gain improved performance.
I have rebuilt the engine all the usual stocks parts, engine runs on pertronix electronic ignition and a single barrel rochester carb it runs fine one thing i did think about was the exhaust system on it is standard is there anything i can do with this maybe to improve performance and can i achieve a better sound (i know it sounds daft but would like a nice burble sound).

A guy I know put a "wye" in the pipe on his rebuilt 235 and put dual flowmasters on.....sounds awsome.....Bill

235

had a55 hardtop back in 67 had 261 pontiac 6 cyl with isky cam, split manifold , dual exhaust, and 2 2 barrels. i also had 3 spd overdrive that i had hooked up as a 6 spd...did a post on that a while ago.i was very happy with it , lots of torque a few small blocks in town were not so impressed , if you know what i mean ... You could always go with a turbo on it, 5-6 lbs of boost should provide a good amount of power increase without having to beef up the engine as long as you don't over rev it and run 92-93 octane gas maybe less if you do some form of charge cooling ( not a bad idea on any turbo setup ). And then you would have a engine setup thats probably going to be unique from all your local tri five owners :)
Also you could put a perfomance cam and the fenton headers, offy intake manifold 2x1 or single 4bbl
if you wanted the more classic hop up approaches.

Heres a link to a vendor in the Usa that carries such parts

That is one nice looking engine, and there are several thing's you can do as you have already been advised in previous post's.
I think I would go for the exhaust mods first. My .02
Don't be sorry for asking question's, or for help. That is what this site is all about.
