I got my 55' last year and this is my first winter down,so I got it apart and doing some painting under the hood and thinking of what to do with it this year. I want to do some upgrading every year "I want everything now,but my bank account wont allow that
3: "
I wanted to go for a new engine, but that would really stretch me thin plus that would take up money from much needed things like a brake conversion,so I decided to hold off on the engine and going to do a fewer small things like brakes, and possibly a radiator.
I have the stock original radiator and have a 283 in it now and also use the 5 blade fan "no shroud" and don't have a problem as far as over heating, while most agree the temps it gets to while driving is normal,I personally think it jus feels hotter then it should, but no problems. Now on hotter days or doing more driving and come to a stop for a few minutes you can see the guage start to rise.
But from what I read a shroud would really help with that,or possibly a 6 blade fan with clutch? So my question is if my stock radiator is in working condition would I benefit from spending $600+ on one of these griffin aluminum radiators? Will just the aluminum radiator alone help and or fix the climbing temp at a stand still?
