I just removed the older 283 with THX 350 tranny in my 56 2dr hrdtp. The tranny was mounted using the original mounts that protrude inward from the chassis. I am going with a cross member set up for the new 700 R4. By doing so can I cut out the entire original mount? Just wanted to verify before I get carried away with the cutoff wheel and grinder.
