Calling all trifivers at the Nationals that play music, I brought my guitar, upright bass and a snare drum. I'm looking to stir up a rockabilly jam session later tonight and/or tomorrow if anyone is interested.

I'm at the corvette museum listening to the Tail fins tearing it up right now, but I'll be back at the host hotel in an hour or so.

How bout it, let's make a little noise !

No jam session this year :( but the word was spread and several guys said they would bring their instruments next year. Let's work out a set list of 50's songs, practice our chops and next year we'll Rock this Town!:sign0020:

Now we are talking, looks like we have a Trifive.com band!

My thoughts were all acoustic rockabilly and 50's songs.
For example,
MatchBox by Carl Perkins
Mystery Train by Elvis
That'll be the Day by Buddy Holly
16 Tons by Tennessee Ernie Ford
I Walk the Line by Johnny Cash ( Heck anything early in Johnny's career with the Tennessee Two)

I was thinking a "down on the corner, out in the street" kind of thing. Just meet in the parking lot with the cars after dark or maybe in the lobby of a hotel ( with their permission )
That should get the ball rolling, Im open to suggestions

Maybe even some doo-***.

John, You're gonna make me get my fingertips sore. I've got three guitars with dust on them. A Fender Strat, flatop and twelve string. I played in two R&R bands when I was a kid. These days I'll get the urge to play, get frustrated because I can't play like I did when I played hours a day and quit for awhile, then repeat.:sign0020: Blake

I knew there were a lot of guitar players here on Trifive, didn't know you were one of though.

50's cars and 50's music just go hand in hand. We might need to have an "open guitar" night at the next car show. :)

Alright all you musicians out there, lets see if we can get an impromptu jam session together for next years Nationals. Post here or PM me with what instruments you can play and what songs you would want on a set list. I'm open to anything from the 50`s, country, rock, DooWoop, Blues you name it. I'm thinking an all acoustic down on the corner out in the street style jam. Lets rock this town!

I'm hoping to encourage all the musicians here on trifive to bring their instruments and talents to the Nationals for a jam session in the parking lot.
After listening to this video, if you think you can play better than me then I challenge you to a friendly "Cutting of the Heads"! Lets rock this town!
