Years ago there was an external visor on my sedan delivery that someone stole.Of course they didnt take the time to plug the screw holes so water got in & rusted some of the dash.
I took my gauge cluster out & the darn speedometer is rusted.Even the odometer gears are rusted.& there used to be what looks like a cork gasket that isnt there anymore....GEE WHIZ,Whats next?

Anyone have a decent speedo?
Needless to say I was totally bummed so I put the back bumper on to distract myself.Course thats covered w/rust also but that really doesnt matter to me.Check out the license plate.
PS;Yes that is the original rear view mirror in pic #2.

Hate to hear about the recent discovery, I can relate.
I am going to get into my gauge boxes this afternoon, let me see if I can help you out on that speedometer. I think I have one....do you need the backing plate also if I can locate it? What about Fuel and Temp gauge?

Yup,the salt air really raises cain. You can see what it did to the mirror & that was inside the car , the entire bottom of the car looks just like the mirror. Some of the metal pieces(IE; the hood bar extensions) could be used to scrape the bark off of an oak tree.

HEY
Wait a minute,,,,you're from Florida and the car has Georgia plates and you think that you have to deal with rust problems ? Come on up to Northern Illinois and check out my old stuff. You talk about rusted out junk,,,,we got record setting rust-buckets up here.Half the old cars that I look at around here have frames that are rusted through. I'll take the worst that Georgia has to offer any day,,,it's still better than our junk.-LOL-KB

^^^^AGREED!!!! Chicago winters are brutal on old cars. My sister has an 2001 chevy cavalier and it has big rotted holes on both rockers.
