As I have read a couple of threads where members were broke down returning from BG, I wonder if a membership list/book would be a possibility. When I was an NSRA member years ago, they had one.

They would list the member name, city/town and phone number. If someone was broke down in the area they could call the member for local help, names of reputable shops, knowledge, etc. I only had a couple of calls in probably 10 years, but they were sure thankful for the contact info.

I know Pops supplied some contacts, but a phone number is much quicker and easier, especially if someone is broke down and a lot of us, or maybe just me, don't look at e-mail that often.

I would have no problem sharing my contact info with this group, and would pay to purchase the book with contact info and keep it in my 55.

Thoughts?

Otis?

Today is a different time it seems, they blow a gasket if someone gives out their email much less phone number, because soon as a list is available, the spammers and marketing people find a way to get it and then abuse the system.

Sorry

Otis :)
Otis- what if is was strictly voluntary. Maybe just a cell number and city and state? No e-mail address and only Tri Five members would be able to have or buy it?
Just my thoughts, but not a big deal.

Terry....At this point, to me the biggest problem is that members, for some reason, fail to supply their location by city and state....Without that info, I would have not been able to get help for Larry.

Just stating NE, Western New York, or north central Indiana is not much help to anyone
I agree, however I have no problem listing my city, state, and cell number. But, it may not be a good idea. I only thought of it as I read a few threads from people who had issues returning from BG. If members don't want it no big deal-- not the worst idea I have come up with in my life. (my putting a ladder in a wheelbarrow to gain an extra 2 feet would be in my top 10)

Terry....My apologies if it looked as if I was picking on you my friend.....I would be help out by compiling the list, if the idea is approved.

This only helps, if the member has listed their city/state...Which has long been an aspiration of mine.
Not picking on me at all. I just felt for the guys coming home from BG and had no contact list. I understand both the pros and cons of this. No easy way to pick up a porcupine without getting stung-- and this is probably one of these issues. It was just a thought, no big deal.
If anyone needed help in Omaha, I would make myself available, but they would need to know how to contact me and some are not comfortable with giving out that information, and I understand.
